Survival Olympics

Do you have a competitive family that loves wilderness survival shows? Are you looking for a fun event for your Boy Scout or Girl Scout Troop? Maybe you are looking to bring your work team closer together and have exhausted the traditional team building events? You have come to the right place! Below is the general outline for the program. The event can be customized to meet the needs of your family, organization, or business.

Time break down

  • 9am - Ice breakers, group games, and warm up.
  • 9:30am - Introduction to shelter building. Learn the basics of building a survival shelter that will keep you warm and dry.
  • 10:30am - Introduction to fire making. Learn how to build a fire that will light in most conditions.
  • 11:00am - Introduction to fire by friction. Learn how to ignite a fire using the bow drill method.
  • 12:00am - Lunch
  • 12:30am - Introduction to hunting and trapping techniques. Learn how to construct and throw a rabbit stick. Learn how construct and set a dead-fall trap. (Note: no animals will be harmed during this event. Stuffed animals excluded!)
  • 1:30pm - Review of shelter, fire, and food skills.
  • 2pm - The games begin! Group will be divided into teams and will be going head-to-head in a shelter building challenge, followed by a bow-drill challenge and culminating in a rabbit stick and trap setting challenge.
  • 4pm - Award ceremony, review and closing.
  • 5pm - Departure.

Group Size: Minimum of 4, maximum of 24.

Duration: Dependent on group size, but plan for a full day.
